Conclusion

The regular GTX 780 Ti is a phenomenally powerful GPU out of the box, but it has the ability to perform at even higher levels thanks to the overclocking potential we saw in our original review of the GTX 780 Ti. Zotac has capitalised on this well by offering a card with a substantial overclock, at least on the core, for only about £35 more than the cheapest stock cards, which isn't much when you're shopping in the region of £550. Admittedly, it doesn't appear to be any faster than the GTX 780 Ti when you push them both to their limits, but it does remain noticeably cooler and quieter.

Many people will also be looking towards water-cooling at this level of investment (especially with the recently announced NZXT Kraken G10 bracket), which makes custom air cooled GTX 780 Ti cards even more of a niche market. Nevertheless, there's no denying that the GTX 780 Ti AMP! is a very desirable card.

Users willing to go the multi-GPU route could also save themselves significant cash by opting for the HD 7990, or even a pair of R9 280X or GTX 760 cards, which would likely offer similar if not better performance, with the caveat of course being that SLI and CrossFire requires frequent optimisation. At the end of the day though, the GTX 780 Ti was never about outstanding value for money, and Zotac has done little wrong and plenty right with its AMP! edition. For pure single GPU performance it doesn't get much better than this.
